Arthur Chang, President and CEO

Arthur G. Chang brings over 20 years of hi-tech executive experience to PanTerra Networks. Mr. Chang, a Silicon Valley serial entrepreneur, has contributed at the senior executive level to several companies in the valley that have experienced growth and success. Prior to PanTerra Networks, Mr. Chang was the CEO of Cradle Technologies, a multi-core multimedia DSP company. Prior to Cradle, Mr. Chang was CEO of SoloPoint Communications, a provider of telecommunications equipment to the RBOCs and Telcos. Mr. Chang grew the company over several years culminating in an IPO event. Prior to SoloPoint, Mr. Chang held various executive management positions with companies in the storage, server and remote access market places. Mr. Chang started his career at Bell Laboratories in Naperville, IL.

Throughout his career, Mr. Chang has worked closely with several Silicon Valley venture capitalists as a consultant and analyst. Mr. Chang's expertise is in helping companies recruit top talent, setting corporate and product strategies, and raising capital in preparation for rapid growth.

Mr. Chang received his B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering from Northwestern University, his M.S. degree in Computer Science and Electrical Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley and an Executive MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business.

Jeff Boucher, CFO and VP - Finance

Jeff Boucher brings with him over 17 years of finance, accounting and operations experience in SaaS and software technology companies. Prior to joining PanTerra Networks, Jeff was the Vice President of Finance at Power Assure, a SaaS provider of data center infrastructure and energy management software. Prior to that he was the Vice President of Finance at Bytemobile where he was instrumental in its successful acquisition by Citrix Systems in July of 2012. While at Bytemobile, Jeff oversaw all financial and accounting functions. Before joining Bytemobile, he was the controller at Viador, responsible for all finance, accounting, SEC reporting and responsible for the restructuring of operations. Prior to Viador, he was controller at 2Roam and prior to that Jeff was at the public accounting firm Frank, Rimerman & Co., where he earned his California CPA license as an audit manager.

Mr. Boucher is a member of the California Society of CPA’s and holds a Bachelor of Science in Commerce degree in Accounting from Santa Clara University.

Robert Mainor, EVP - Operations

Robert P. Mainor has over 20 years of senior level executive experience in the communications industry. Mr. Mainor has held strategic roles in marketing, sales, business development and operations and is considered a key pioneer in bringing VoIP to the masses. Prior to his appointment as EVP, Mr. Mainor was the co-founder and COO of SunRocket where he grew the subscriber base from 0 to over 250,000 in less than 36 months. Prior to SunRocket, Mr. Mainor was the President of Xpedite Systems, a $200M multi-modal communications services company. Mr. Mainor held senior executive positions with COLT Telecom Plc, Bell Atlantic and Compuserve. He earlier founded Seara Corp., which was acquired by CompuServe.

Mr. Mainor holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics and a Master’s degree in Economics and Statistics from Auburn University.

David Ryan, VP - Sales

David A. Ryan brings with him over 15 years of sales leadership to PanTerra Networks. Mr. Ryan has held strategic roles in sales leadership, sales, operations and business development in the UCaaS, SaaS and telecommunications industries. Mr. Ryan brings an exceptional record of achievement in driving critical revenue and profitability outcomes within highly competitive market environments. Prior to joining PanTerra Networks, Mr. Ryan was Regional Director of Sales at Nextel Partners, Inc. a wireless communication provider. Mr. Ryan launched new partner sales programs increasing regional customer sales and revenues over 340% in 24 months, while delivering eight consecutive quarters over quarter growth. Prior to Nextel Partners, Mr. Ryan was the Regional Director of Sales at Verizon Wireless, where his comprehensive responsibility was development and leadership for all phases of sales, strategic planning, analyzing and monitoring financials and new business development.

Mr. Ryan holds a bachelor's degree in Business Management from Canisius College.

Ranga Vutukuru, VP - R&D

Ranga Rao Vutukuru has over 10 years of experience in software engineering, management and strategic direction setting. He oversees the development of all PanTerra Networks' services. Mr. Vutukuru has implemented extensive development methodologies and processes to make development more efficient, effective and agile. Prior to PanTerra Networks, Mr. Vutukuru was the Chief Architect at eMatrix. Prior to eMatrix, Mr. Vutukuru held engineering architect positions at MedPlexus, Ericsson, NHCL and successfully delivered high performance communication platforms for online claim processing applications, collaboration software and VoIP applications.

Jerome Friesenhahn, VP - Customer Satisfaction

Jerome D. Friesenhahn has over 20 years of hi-tech experience with a focus on cloud-based unified communications since 2000. Mr. Friesenhahn has extensive experience in network technologies, cloud-based service solutions, complex multi-location data and voice communication networks as well as strong leadership, management and customer interaction skills. He oversees all support services and sales engineering functions. Additionally, Mr. Friesenhahn has implemented effective, streamlined processes and operating procedures at Panterra Networks for Sales, Support and Customer Service departments. Prior to joining Panterra Networks, Mr. Friesenhahn was EVP with Allnet Services, where he managed all sales and technical operations, including building strong business relationships with early adopters of cloud unified communications providers like GoBeam and Covad.

Dave Immethun, Sr Dir - Marketing

Dave Immethun has spent over 20 years in various marketing and sales positions in the communications field prior to joining PanTerra Networks. Mr. Immethun was the Sr. Director of Sales and Director of Product Marketing at Packet8/8x8 Inc., a business Voice over IP (VoIP) service provider. Dave grew customers and revenue over 400% in two years, while delivering the first of six consecutive cash flow positive quarters in the company’s 20+ year history. In marketing he defined and launched all Packet8 VoIP services including residential, video and Virtual Office hosted VoIP PBX offerings from inception. Prior to 8x8 Inc., Mr. Immethun was Director of Product Management at AltiGen Communications, an IP-PBX equipment provider, where he launched call center and IP phone offerings increasing revenue per sale by 20%. Before AltiGen, Mr. Immethun was the Senior Product Manager at Entera, an Internet stream caching equipment and service provider where he was responsible for product definition and strategic markets. CacheFlow, now Blue Coat Systems acquired Entera Inc., for $440m. Mr. Immethun started his career at Nortel Networks where he held positions of increased responsibility over 15+ years including manufacturing supervisor, materials planning, call center manager, NPI and product management.

Mr. Immethun received his B.S.B.M. in Business Management from University of Phoenix, San Jose, CA.

Edward Esber, Jr., Managing Director, Halo Fund

Ed Esber has over thirty years experience in the computer industry working for IBM, Texas Instruments and as CEO of Ashton Tate and COO of Creative Labs. He was either a founder, executive or board member of several startups including VisiCorp, Creative Insights, SoloPoint, Motion Computing, Blue Roads Software, Poqet Computer, iTaggits and Pocket.com. As a PC industry pioneer, he pioneered the marketing and distribution of retail, packaged software and developed the marketing strategies for two of the world’s best selling PC software packages of the 1980’s. He marketed the first spreadsheet, the first office suite and the first Wintel graphical user interface. After pioneering work in personal computer software, he did seminal work on the integration of computers and multimedia at Creative Labs, the integration of computers, toys and learning at Creative Insights, the integration of computers, communication and telephony at SoloPoint, the mobilization of email and internet access at Pocket.com and personal computer mobility first at Poqet Computer and then at Motion Computing, a tablet-PC company.

He has served on the board of directors of over twenty-five public, private and non-profit boards. He currently serves on the board of directors of Utah Capital Investment Corporation, Utah Small Business Growth Initiative and Case Western Reserve University.

His education includes a B.S. in Computer Engineering from Case Western Reserve University, an M.S. in Electrical Engineering from Syracuse University and an MBA from Harvard Business School.

Andre Turenne

Andre Turenne has more than 30 years of venture capital, business development, operating and technical experience in the technology sector. Mr. Turenne was previously a senior vice president of D. E. Shaw & Co., a global investment and technology development firm, and a Partner at D. E. Shaw’s venture capital unit. Prior to joining D. E. Shaw & Co., Mr. Turenne was a managing director of NeoCarta Ventures, a venture capital investment firm. Prior to that, he served as senior manager of strategic investments at Intel Capital, the venture capital unit of Intel Corporation.

Before beginning his more than twenty years of venture capital investing experience, Mr. Turenne also spent five years at Intel Corporation in various technical, marketing, and sales management roles, focusing on initiatives in enterprise servers and software, microprocessors, and high performance computing. Prior to working at Intel, Mr. Turenne spent six years in various engineering and engineering management positions at Photocircuits Corporation, a leading producer of printed circuit boards.

Mr. Turenne currently serves on the board of directors of Altierre Corp. and PanTerra Networks as well as being an active advisor/mentor to several startups. During his tenure at D. E. Shaw & Co., he served on the board of directors of PGP Corporation (acquired by Symantec); Silverpop (acquired by IBM); Meru Networks (IPO); Asetek (IPO); UserTesting.com; and Winery Exchange. Prior to 2006, investments by Mr. Turenne include: Active Software (acquired by webMethods); Cavium Networks (IPO); Extricity (acquired by Peregrine Systems); Persistence Software (IPO); Red Hat (IPO); Selectica (IPO); SilverStream Software (IPO); VA Linux (IPO); and WebLogic (acquired by BEA Systems). Mr. Turenne was also a member of the board of trustees of the Sea Crest School in Half Moon Bay, CA.

Mr. Turenne received his B.S. in Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and his M.B.A. from Northeastern University, where he was recognized as valedictorian of his class.

Alex Wong, Managing Director, D. E. Shaw & Co., L.P.

Alexander Wong is a managing director of D. E. Shaw & Co., L.P. and head of venture capital at the D. E. Shaw group. He has more than 20 years of operating, technical, private equity, and venture capital experience in the technology industry. His investment interests span a wide range of areas, including financial technology, big data, mobile, enterprise software, clean energy, and emerging technologies. Prior to joining the D. E. Shaw group in 2005, he was a partner at Apax Partners, a global private equity firm. Before that, he served as a managing director at Intel Capital, the venture capital unit of Intel Corporation. He has also held roles in engineering, operations, research and development, and government affairs.
