Understanding Your Invoice

In this tutorial, we’ll help you read your PanTerra Networks invoice so you can easily understand your billing. We’ll break down key sections of the invoice, ensuring you’re informed about your charges, credits, and any fees associated with your account. Staying on top of your invoice is essential for smooth account management, and we’re here to guide you through it.

Step 1: Balance Forward

The first section of your invoice shows the balance forward. This represents any unpaid amount from the previous month. Ensure you review this carefully to stay up-to-date with your account balance.

Step 2: Payments and Credits

Here, you'll find any payments or credits applied to your account. If there are prepaid credits, they’ll be listed in this section. A negative value (shown in parentheses) indicates that you have a credit pending, which will be applied to your next invoice.

Step 3: Amount Past Due

If there is an amount past due, it will be displayed here. A negative amount might seem confusing, but it simply means there’s a credit waiting to be applied in the future, and you won’t owe anything until that credit is used up.

Step 4: Current Charges

The current charges section details two sets of charges. You’ll see charges for two different months because FCC regulations prevent certain fees from being billed in advance. For example, your invoice might show pre-billed charges for the upcoming month alongside charges from the previous month.

  • Pre-billed services (like seats) for the upcoming month are charged in advance.
  • Charges from the previous month, such as taxes and regulatory fees, are applied only after the month has ended, as these cannot be billed beforehand.

Step 5: Late Fees

If you miss a payment or make a late payment, a late fee may be applied. Invoices without late fees will not display this section, but it’s important to pay attention to this potential charge in case your payment is delayed.

Step 6: Individual Service Charges

On the second page of your invoice, you’ll see service charges for specific items like “Business Basic,” which may include per-seat pricing. If discounts are applied, the final charge may not exactly match the unit price, but you can calculate the per-seat price by dividing the total charge by the number of seats.

Step 7: Taxes and Regulatory Fees

This section provides a breakdown of taxes and regulatory fees, including charges like the Federal Universal Service Fund and state or local taxes. These are standard charges that PanTerra is required to collect and remit.

Step 8: Account-Level Changes
